EV charging poles for housing companies and businesses — how InfraPole works in practice

The number of electric cars keeps growing, yet many housing companies and business properties face the same question: how to get both engine heating and EV charging into the yard without turning it into a forest of posts. InfraPole answers this by combining both in one pole.

What InfraPole includes

The top of the pole has a lockable cabinet with timer-controlled engine-heater outlets — it does the same job as a traditional heating post. The lower section has an integrated EV charger (Zaptec) with a Type 2 connector and RFID identification. The body is powder-coated aluminium, the protection rating is IP44, and inside is a distribution board with the protective devices (Hager) mounted on a DIN rail. The product is CE-marked.

The charging connector follows the Type 2 (IEC 62196) standard — the European standard for all modern electric cars — so charging is not tied to a single car brand.

What ”one pole, two parking spaces” means

One InfraPole serves two adjacent parking spaces with heating outlets. The number of charging points — and whether both spaces can charge at the same time — is decided in the site implementation: it depends on the number of chargers and the property's electrical capacity. That way the sizing matches the real need.

Can charging be added later?

Yes. InfraPole is modular, and at many sites you start with heating and add the charger only when the need grows. The pole is cabled charging-ready already at installation, so adding a charger does not require opening the pole for re-cabling. The property's own electrical capacity and supply are always checked as part of the planning, so that the charging power to be added suits the site.

Who pays for the charging? User management and billing

This is often one of the board's first questions, and it shouldn't be left open. The charger has RFID identification, so charging can be assigned to a user. How electricity consumption is measured and billed — and whether load management is needed between several charging points — is agreed per site according to the charger, the property's electrical system and the housing company's or business's operating model. We go through these already in the planning phase.

How the price is formed

InfraPole is priced per site, because the total is affected by the number of poles and charging points, the existing cabling and electrical capacity, any groundwork, and the chosen load-management and billing solution. These are itemised in the quote based on the site's details, so you see what the total consists of — instead of a fixed list price you get a price based on your site's actual starting data.

Made in Finland, warranty and service

InfraPole is made in Jyväskylä, Central Finland, together with local metal-industry companies. The aluminium body has a 5-year warranty and the electrical components a 2-year warranty. Installation can be ordered through a qualified electrical contractor, and service and maintenance responsibilities are agreed as part of the delivery.

How a project proceeds

1. Free assessment. You tell us the number of parking spaces, the location and the state of the current heating posts — we suggest a suitable implementation.
2. Quote and implementation plan. You get a site-specific quote: number of poles, placement and electrical arrangements itemised.
3. Installation. After the approved package (for example a general-meeting decision) the poles are manufactured, delivered and installed as agreed.
